WE HAD A LOVELY LITTLE Q&A SESSION WITH A MUG OF GLUHWEIN BY THE FIRE WITH OUR RESIDENT LEGEND, JOE SPENCER.
What’s it like to be part of our Haus Of Schloss entertainment team?
It's glorious! I get to work with brilliant, hilarious, supportive, inspiring people at a place I love.
What’s been your favourite Schloss moment to date?
When Tiesto Von Darude, the 90s club classics opera singer, did a storming rendition of Gala's Freed From Desire!
What’s your favourite Schloss supper?
It’s got to be the Rueben with Schloss fries or the green sausage hash for brunch. A lot of our meetings revolve around brunch
What song best describes you?
Oh God that's hard erm.. The B-52s - Rock Lobster?! I dunno!
Where would you go in a time machine?
New York 1977, the birth of punk and disco at its peak. A few drinks at Max's rubbing shoulders with Iggy Pop & Debbie Harry then I'd catch a New York Dolls or Ramones gig at CBGB's then head over to The Loft or Studio 54 to hang out with Grace Jones and Divine then end it at a vogue ball in Harlem.
Who is your celebrity crush, dead or alive?
Are you any good at accents?
Certain ones I can get away with but most are awful!
What’s your creative inspiration?
John Waters and Divine and of course Manchester's incredible queer underground scene. I have learned so much from the great queens of this city!
If you were a cocktail what you be?
Oh a Watermelon Aperol Spritz because I'm fun, fruity and flirty.
What’s your average Monday like?
Monday is my day off so I'll wake up late, head over to my studio and fart about maybe make some clothes or costumes. Having a studio is great because you get to leave the house so you feel like you’re being productive when really, you're just eating biscuits.
Tell us something about you that Schlossers might not know?
My beard is a weave!
